Spectacular Rancho Bernardo Inn

This summer I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Rancho Bernardo Inn located in San Diego, California. It was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. This was a family vacation and the property was close enough to all the places we visited, but yet felt like it was miles away from everything. The property is impeccably maintained. All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, from the valet to the front desk staff to the housekeepers. EVERYONE would greet us daily with a smile and say hello.  Below, I am sharing specifics about the property & answering all of the questions I received about my stay.

Did you like your room?

I was completely blown away by our rooms! In addition to breathtaking views of their luscious gardens and golf course, our guest rooms had:

  • private balconies (I loved sitting out there with a cup of coffee every morning!)
  • luxurious linens and top quality bath products (the bed was so comfortable!)
  • Keurig coffee machine (If you know me, you know I love my coffee!)
  • flat-screen TVs
  • ample desk space (This was important for us, as my husband was working during our trip.)
  • thoughtful in-room dining options (The kids loved it!)
  • wireless Internet to keep us connected (The kids were able to connect and still use their electronics. It’s vacation, so we were a bit lenient with it!)

Our rooms were so spacious and we really felt like we had plenty of space for a family of 4.

Did you visit the spa?

ABSOLUTELY! And I felt like a new woman after my treatment! It was so quiet & relaxing at their spa; I felt completely detached from all stress. Splurge & indulge a little and book yourself a poolside cabana by the spa pool. No kids are allowed at this particular pool, but they do have a fabulous kids camp!

Does the resort have restaurants?

Oh yes, there are 4 restaurants on property.

Avant- Lively and sophisticated with some vibrant menu items.

Veranda- Beautiful alfresco dining for a casual meal and a cocktail.

The Bar- I didn’t have the opportunity to visit it, but it was packed every day!

Cafe Granada- I grabbed a Starbucks coffee and fresh pastry here every morning!

What local attractions did you visit?

Golf- We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play on Rancho Bernardo Inn’s championship golf course, which has hosted PGA events.

San Diego Zoo-  The San Diego Zoo is a great place to go in San Diego for a lot of reasons. Not only is it a huge park with inexhaustible, exciting animal exhibits to see, but it’s also fun for all ages. The park makes an effort to entertain the youngest of kids as well as the adults that go with them, or on their own. Our kids had an amazing zoo experience! I recommend eating lunch at Albert’s in the zoo. Make your reservations in advance!

LEGOLAND- LEGOLAND California is a 128-acre park geared specifically towards youngsters ages two through 12. With over 50 family rides, “hands-on” attractions and shows, LEGOLAND California provides education, adventure, and fun in this first park of its kind in the United States. I admit I didn’t want to go at first, but I am so happy we did! The kids loved every minute of it. I recommend you get there early and plan ahead if you are going to visit their water park.

Gaslamp District- The Gaslamp Quarter is an area of great architectural charm. The streets are lined with original nineteenth-century buildings plus others moved in from other parts of San Diego and restored to their original exuberance. You’ll find restaurants and shops. Being only a few blocks in each direction, The Gaslamp makes it easy to enjoy the unique buildings, do a little shopping, and have a meal. We had dinner here and it was a lot of fun!

Did you do any shopping?

I did all of my shopping at the Spa Boutique at Rancho Bernardo Inn 🙂

If you have more questions on San Diego or about the resort, send them my way! Hope you are all enjoying your summer
